Job Description : REPORTS DIRECTLY TO:

Service Desk Manager

FUNCTION:

The Help Desk Operator is required, as directed by the Service Desk Manager, to undertake all day-today running of the ICT Help Desk and be the primary contact for all helpdesk issues. He/she, through the Service Desk Manager, will assist the Communications and Engineering Manager (CEM) and Manager of Information, Communication and Technology (MICT) as required to ensure the smooth processing of requests from ICT users.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Day to day running of the ICT helpdesk in accordance with defined ICT Helpdesk procedures.

2.Perform first line technical support and escalate as required and on direction from the Service Desk Manager.

3.Will action the advice of the Service Desk Manager in order to meet Service Level Agreements.

4.Will inform Service Desk Manager of any operational difficulties with the running of the helpdesk.

5.Produce daily reports as required by the Service Desk Manager.

6.Operates the ICT SAP work order control system in accordance with defined ICT Helpdesk procedures.

7.Performs emergency and out of hours duties as required.

Additional Information : MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION: High Technical College (4 years) or University graduate in the field of Computer software/hardware/support.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years experience in one or more of the following fields: Computer systems support, software programming/support, repair of Microsoft Windows platforms, MS Exchange/Outlook email systems.

Experience working in a service provider support role and good customer relations.

Familiarity with server operating systems (Microsoft). Familiarity with MS office products.

Familiarity with network switches and routers.
